“For what it’s worth, it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. You can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that stop you. I hope you feel things that you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength and courage to change your life around.”—The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
My favorite subject…haha well anyways. Someone asked me “When you love someone, what is it that you love about them? I mean How do you know you love them?”
I think that answer is uniquely different for each person I love. But it made me think about imperfections. When I love someone that is my favorite thing about them. So I guess generally speaking that would be the norm but each person has different “imperfections.” I don’t even like calling them “imperfections” but for the sake of notoriety I will refer to them as so. I’m very selective with who I allow to enter my life. Mostly because I want that particular person to have a sense of exclusivity when it comes to our relationship, be it friendship or romantic.
Love. Well when I love someone it seems as though they aren’t human. Almost as if they shouldn’t exist in this world because they’re are far too incredible. I look at them wide eyed trying to drink everything in. And when I see what is considered a “flaw” or “imperfection” by society, it reminds me they’re human. But please please do not mistaken this with the ideology that “no one is perfect.” No. It’s not that. It just blows my mind that someone so amazing can exist in Human form. It is your “imperfections” that make you perfect because they tell stories about your life…gives you character..shows you have lived.
It is the people I love that make me believe in everyday miracles.
So that’s why I trace your scar. Tickle your stretch marks. Pinch your cheechos. Play with your hands. Kiss the things you hate most. It’s almost like a reminder that “You’re real.”
“Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.”—Lawrence Krauss
“A girl’s silence is something to laugh at. A woman’s silence is to be taken seriously. Why you ask? Because it means she’s plotting her success in the form of your demise.”—Kelly Lee Dekay of Haus of DEKAY
